Canadian,US, some EU citizens (you can see the complete list of countries in the Kazakhstan consulate/embassy in your country) don’t need Invitation Letter/ Visa Letter for obtaining Kazakhstan Visa but nevertheless we will send it on request. If you need an invitation letter please fill the attached visa questionnaire. Residents of countries that do not have the Embassy or any Diplomatic representation of the Republic of Kazakhstan can obtain their visas at the airport on arrival (USD 70). Astana, October 2nd 2010 Almaty, October 3rd 2010 General information for participants Kazakh language is the official language of the country but everybody speaks Russian. There is one time zone in both cities GMT+5 (Almaty, Astana). The national currency is Kazakhstan tenge (KZT). Though the prices below are in USD you will have to pay in KZT. You may exchange USD 1 = 146 KZT, EURO 1 = 187 KZT, SFR 1=135KZT . All currencies are exchangeable at any bureau de change throughout the cities. But we would advise to take mainly USD. The credit cards are also acceptable in most of the places but cash is more preferable. Cash machines are all over the cities. | |||||||
