THE ALL-KAZAKHSTAN INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION FAIR 2013

General information for participants

Kazakh language is the official language of the country but everybody speaks Russian.

The time zone in Almaty and Astana is GMT+6, in Atyrau and Aktau the time zone is GMT+5.

The national currency is Kazakhstan tenge (KZT). Though the prices below are in USD you will have to pay in KZT. You may exchange USD 1 = 147 KZT, EURO 1 = 198 KZT. USD and Euro are exchangeable at any bureau de change throughout the city. But we would advise to take mainly USD.

The credit cards are also acceptable in most of the places but cash is more preferable. Cash machines are all over the city.

Domestic Flights:

You can book them yourself on-line (www.airastana.com) or we can arrange the domestic flights for you. The payment can be maid after arrival in Kazakhstan.

Please make your boxes no more than 7 kg each and one mail must not exceed 31kg in total. And please write “No Commercial Value” on boxes. This is all to avoid custom taxes that can be up to 300 USD for us. You may send by an ordinary mail, we will receive it within 7-14 days.
We expect about 800-1000 attendees each in Almaty, Astana and Atyrau. We would advice to use more leaflets rather than brochures and it is better to use free-standing banner then posters as in some fair venues it is not permitted to hang posters on the walls.
Each participant will be provided a table with a badge and a number tag and 4 chairs within a space allocation of approximately 8-10 sq.m. You can hang up your posters on the wall behind the table.

Please send 250-280 word description of your school/college/university in English and, if available, in Russian for the fair catalogue which will be distributed free during the fair sites.
We have also a possibility to publish color advertising in AKIEF-2013 catalogue of your institutions. The color advertising rates are as below:

Interpreters
You will be provided with an interpreter (free of charge) at every fair site.
Meals at fair places
Lunch will be provided during the fair free of charge.

Visa

Canadian, US, some EU citizens (you can see the complete list of countries in the Kazakhstan consulate/embassy in your country) don’t need Invitation Letter/ Visa Letter for obtaining Kazakhstan Visa but nevertheless we will send it on request. Residents of countries which do not have the Embassy or any Diplomatic representation of the Republic of Kazakhstan can obtain their visas at the airport on arrival with an invitation letter (USD 70).
